FREE Meditation Classes in Ottawa

Learn to meditate with our free meditation workshops.

The Sri Chinmoy Centre of Ottawa offers free meditation classes wherein you will learn concentration, relaxation and meditation techniques to calm the mind, unwind from stress and find inner peace.

We will be offering classes in-person once the masking and number restrictions have been lifted.
Until such time, we are offering the following series of classes online on Zoom.

Free Introductory Meditation Course
Online on ZOOM

Sundays: February 6, 13, 20 & 27, 2022
1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

As this is a consecutive series of classes kindly register for
the 1st and/or 2nd class prior to taking the 3rd and 4th class.
After the 4th class, an opportunity to follow up will be available.

Class 1 will be an introduction to meditation
with practical techniques and a Q&A session.
We will be using PowerPoint slides, which
we can send to participants after each class.

What is meditation?

In meditation, we try to make the mind calm and quiet. By, making the mind quiet, we can become aware of our inner stillness, and our inner peace. Meditation is our conscious journey of self-discovery.

How to meditate

In the classes, you will learn different meditation techniques, these include concentration, breathing, mantra and the use of music for meditation. The aim is to be aware of the present moment, away from our restless thoughts, and to create a space where our inner joy can come to the fore.

Who are we?

The Sri Chinmoy Centre has been established in Ottawa since the early 1970s. We are a group of diverse people brought together through a shared interest in meditation and the spiritual path of Sri Chinmoy. In the past 30 years, we have offered free meditation classes to thousands of people who live in Ottawa. We welcome you to join us.
